Product Co-Founder — GRC / Compliance

Sinope is looking for a product co-founder with real-world ISO 27001 consulting or auditing experience.

This is for someone who can already see what is happening to the compliance industry.

AI is going to automate a large amount of the work currently delivered manually by consultants: drafting policies, gathering evidence, interpreting requirements, preparing teams and repeating the same explanations from client to client.

We do not want to preserve that model.

We want to build what replaces it.

Sinope is building software to help startups and SMEs go from:

“What’s an ISO?”

to:

“We’re certified.”

First time right. Every time.

We are an agentic-first company

Sinope is operated by Kalvex ehf, and Kalvex is being built as an agentic-first company.

That means AI is not an optional productivity tool reserved for engineering.

We expect people across the company to actively look for ways to use AI and agents to amplify their output.

If you learn something repeatedly, we want to encode it.

If you perform the same process repeatedly, we want to automate it.

If expertise can be turned into a workflow, agent, evaluation, dataset or piece of software that allows the rest of the company to benefit from it, we want to do that.

The objective is not simply to make each employee 10% more efficient.

We want a small group of exceptional people, supported by software and agents, to produce what would traditionally require a much larger organisation.

That should show up in our output, our speed and eventually in dramatically higher revenue per employee.

We do not intend to operate like companies of old.

For this role specifically, that means we do not just want your compliance knowledge inside your head.

We want your expertise encoded into Sinope so that customers, employees and agents can use it at scale.

Who we’re looking for

ISO 27001 experience is essential.

You should have a genuine history of helping companies through certification, implementation, audit preparation or auditing. We are looking for practical experience rather than certification knowledge alone.

Experience with any of the following is a strong advantage:

• ISO 13485
• ISO 42001
• EASA Part-IS
• Other regulated or high-assurance frameworks

More importantly, you should believe that AI is going to fundamentally change professional services.

You are probably already using Claude, Codex, ChatGPT or similar tools heavily in your work — or you are frustrated that your current environment prevents you from doing so.

You know which parts of compliance genuinely require experienced human judgement.

You also know which parts should have become software years ago.

And when you discover a better way of doing something, your instinct should be to make that capability reusable rather than keeping it as personal expertise.

What you’ll do

You will help shape Sinope from the perspective of someone who has actually done the work.

That includes:

• Turning real consulting and audit workflows into software
• Encoding your compliance expertise into agents, evaluations and product workflows
• Designing how Sinope guides companies through ISO 27001 and future standards
• Defining what good evidence looks like
• Helping build realistic audit preparation and mock-audit experiences
• Identifying where AI can safely replace repetitive consulting work
• Identifying where expert judgement must remain human
• Working directly with customers and design partners
• Challenging product decisions that do not reflect how audits actually work
• Helping determine which standards Sinope supåports next
• Continuously looking for ways to multiply your own output using AIå

You do not need to be a software engineer.

You do need to be willing to work in an environment where AI-assisted product development, autonomous agents and automation are normal parts of the job.

The person we probably won’t hire

If your view is that AI should simply make traditional consulting a little more efficient, this probably is not the role for you.

We believe the business model itself is going to change.

A significant amount of work currently sold by the consulting hour will become software.

That will reduce consulting fees for customers.

It will also make genuinely valuable expertise more scalable.

We are looking for someone who would rather help build that future than defend the economics of the past.

Compensation

This is a co-founder position, not a conventional employee role.

Compensation will therefore include meaningful founder equity.

Cash salary will depend on the stage at which you join, your level of involvement and Sinope’s funding position.

We will discuss compensation, equity, time commitment and risk openly before either side makes a commitment.

If you currently operate your own consultancy, we are open to discussing a transition period rather than requiring an immediate jump into full-time employment.

Hiring process

We want the process to be useful for both sides.

1. An initial conversation about your experience, the industry and where you think AI is taking it.
2. A deeper product discussion using real compliance and audit scenarios.
3. Time working together on a real Sinope problem so we can see how we think, build and make decisions together.
4. A frank discussion about responsibilities, equity, compensation, commitment and expectations.
5. References and final founder discussions before making a commitment.

There will not be a seven-round corporate interview process.

For a co-founder, how we work together matters considerably more than interview performance.
